On Jan 28, 2010 11:06PM You Asked: Please visit my site and try to find the Deployment Summary report for the Panacea project. Get as far as you can and then answer these questions: 1. How far did you get? What slowed you down? 2. What would you change about this process? 3. What would you keep the same about this process? You've received 10 answers! ------------------------------------------------- * 1 1) I got to the Deployment Summary page (http://devcreek.com/reports/projects/Panacea/Deployment-Summary.html 2) I would install an internal search function, to making finding reports less time consuming. 3) Once one figures out how the system works, it is rather simple to find what one is looking for. Therefore, no great changes are necessary. Firefox 3.5 (MacOS) Seattle, Washington, United States ------------------------------------------------- * 2 1. I found the Deployment Summary at http://devcreek.com/reports/projects/Panacea/Deployment-Summary.html The link titled "Reports" may have slowed me down a bit - I was looking for "Projects"... 2. I would change that link to "Project Reports" (perhaps stacking the two words vertically, to fit the column width). 3. The site itself, the color scheme, are wonderful. If I had to change anything, I'd remove the tags|all list from the highlight box. Perhaps it needs to be there and has a purpose, though(I'm not savvy enough to really know). Firefox 3.5 (Windows) Novato, California, United States ------------------------------------------------- * 3 1. I found the report. Clicked REPORTS -> Panacea -> Deployment - Summary 2. I would add a search string where one can enter the name e.g. Panacea and website shall present the search results itself. 3. Sections are OK, A separate section of Reports, then details. Maybe, highlight the top rated projects on home page itself. Explorer 7 (Windows) India, Maharashtra Thana ------------------------------------------------- * 4 1. I reached till the exact file location here: http://devcreek.com/reports/projects/Panacea/Deployment-Summary.html It was very easy to find the project report by going in the section named "Reports" and under the section with the project name "Panacea" will give you the deployment summary project. 2. Absolutely nothing, for me it was quite easy to locate the file and also didn't observed any kind of difficulty in the process. The only thing I would like to see is more option regarding the sorting our files, like sorting file by dates, by size etc. 3. Well i would keep the whole process same, because I'm comfortable with its current design and process and found no error or confusion in the given task. Firefox 3.5 (Windows) Udaipur, Rajasthan, India ------------------------------------------------- * 5 1. How far did you get? What slowed you down? I got that it helps to improve the performance of the software by their project, the appearance is very dull, it does not tell the creation date and information about the people who used it because people will fear to use the new software. 2. What would you change about this process? The process like new project and old project which have been succeed greatly should be shown clearly, for this week which software has been used by user should be mentioned. The advertisement should be given to popular this process. 3. What would you keep the same about this process? The process of improving the performance of the software by project is to be same. So people will be utilized by this method. Firefox 3.5 (Windows) Bangalore, Karnataka, India ------------------------------------------------- * 6 1. I got through the "New Proejct" stage. The sheer amount of text on each page slowed me down. 2. I would decrease the amount of text. Maybe show an overview of the process with more graphics? 3. I like how you don't require a lot of personal information to register. Internet Explorer 8 (Windows) Los Angeles, California, United States ------------------------------------------------- * 7 1. I was able to complete the task easily. I clicked on "reports" on the home page, then scrolled down the Report page until I found Panacea, "clicked" on Panacea, scrolled down the Panacea Analytics page until I found the "Deployment - Summary" report, "clicked" on "Deployment - Summary", and the task was completed. Nothing slowed me down - I just kept on "clicking" in a logical manner until I found the report. 2. I would put a "Project Search" widget on the home page - that would make the process go faster. 3. I would keep the Analytics pages for projects the same - it's easy enough to scroll down and find the report you want once you have gotten to the project you're looking for. Firefox 3.5 (Windows) Norfolk, Virginia United States ------------------------------------------------- * 8 1. I could find the Deployment Summary report for the Panacea project. It is available at http://devcreek.com/reports/projects/Panacea/Deployment-Summary.html. I didn't have any problem finding it, but had to search for it. I clicked on - reports - Panacea project - scrolled down till I reached the - Deployment Summary report. 2. It wasn't difficult for me to locate the report, but if someone new to the Internet or computers might find it a bit difficult or time-consuming to get that report. Instead of having to visit another page, I would suggest you keep a drop-down menu which lists all reports when clicked on the home page itself. So, if I clicked on reports on the home page it would show me Panacea project and reports related to it. This should further open up links for various panacea project reports. This will simplify things, make it easier and faster. Also make the headings of various reports a bit bold. They look too dull in the present form. 3. I have suggested a totally different method of getting to the reports, so apart from the home page, you need to change everything. The home page is fine and things are easily understood there. Firefox 3.5 (Windows) New Delhi, Delhi, India ------------------------------------------------- * 9 1. This is a brilliant idea of DevCreek. It will be useful for software development. It’s also a free service, this feature make this project more powerful. It is good for future of software development practice. 2. Only lookup of this site can change. 3. All the matters of this site I want to keep the same. Internet Explorer 6 (Windows) Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India ------------------------------------------------- * 10 1. Actually no problem i have. I got this site immediately. Nothing was slowed down me. 2. You have to improve your design and add some graphical elements to the site which makes it very attractive. Change the writing style of the text. 3. Don't change the concept of the site. Don't change the contents which is really very useful to us. Try to improve your sublinks but don't change the present links. Firefox 3.5 (Windows) Tiruchchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India
